6 Million Reasons to… Hope is my story. Growing up in a difficult, complicated home, leaving young, and discovering that what shaped me didn’t have to determine the rest of my life.

It’s a story of resilience, forgiveness, self-discovery, courage, and hope. But it’s also an invitation to look at your own.

Maybe you’re carrying something too: a childhood story, a relationship that hurt you, loss, disappointment, failure, a diagnosis, or a season you didn’t choose.

Chapter 1 of 6 Million Reasons to... Hope explores the connection between childhood experiences and the survival patterns we can carry into adulthood.

Inside this FREE chapter, you'll discover:

Why childhood experiences matter

What the ACE Study reveals

Why some of your "flaws" aren't flaws at all

What you developed were not a flaw. They were survival patterns.

Maybe it's time to understand them differently.

I wrote 6 Million Reasons to... Hope because I know what it means to carry pieces of your past into your future.

This isn't a book about pretending difficult things didn't happen. It's about recognizing what those experiences shaped in us, understanding the patterns we developed, and discovering that our past doesn't have to determine the rest of our story.

Do you still carry your hurt with you?

This chapter may speak to you if...

You grew up in a home where you never quite felt safe.

You learned to keep the peace.

You became a people pleaser.

You learned to hide your feelings.

You still struggle with feeling "not enough."

You sometimes wonder why certain situations affect you so deeply.

You've worked hard to move forward but still feel pulled back by parts of your past.

You don't have to have had a "terrible" childhood for your childhood to have shaped you.

Rewriting Her Story

Lida's Journey to Health and Happiness

Growing up with an alcoholic father and a verbally and physically abusive stepmother, I learned a few things about myself. I had a fighting spirit, and playing outside every moment possible became my escape and my continued love for being active. Food on the other hand was my “drug”, of choice, especially sugar. I ate to avoid my emotions, which meant I ate A LOT! I would take the money I earned sewing and delivering papers and sneak a ride down to the 7-Eleven and buy candy – and I’m talking about a lot of candy - that I would take home and hide and then of course, eat!

The positive and negative (self-sabotaging) belief systems that I learned at a young age became who I was - my story. That was until I reached my early twenties. I woke up to the fact that I cried all the time, had no friends, and trusted nobody. I was very unhappy. I knew I had to do something, but since I had no one to turn to, I started reading “self-help” books.
