What if your story, no matter how painful, still holds the power to become something beautiful?

If you’ve been carrying things you never fully processed—things that shaped how you learned to feel safe, how you love, how you protect yourself, and how you move through the world—this book will feel like someone finally naming what you’ve been living with. 6 Million Reasons to Hope is for the parts of you that still remember, even when you’ve tried to forget. It’s a journey through the real moments that formed my story, and the hope that stayed alive underneath the hurt—because I needed it, I searched for it, and eventually I learned how to practice it.

In these chapters, you’ll connect with your own turning points: the way childhood experiences echo into adulthood, the refuge you found when you didn’t have words, the shock of “the moment” when everything changed, and the messy middle where survival becomes strength. You’ll also meet the hope that grows when you step into fear anyway—through rebuilding relationships, learning to trust your body, finding chosen family, and realizing your worth can be something you reclaim, not something you earn. If you want hope that’s honest, steady, and rooted in lived experience—this is the book to bring into your healing. 💛

Section 1: The Early Years

Chapter 1 – Childhood Home Life

Childhood experiences become the foundation of who you grow into as an adult—shaping your identity, behaviors, relationships, and the way you learn to navigate the world. The chaos, the hurt, the silence, and the moments I escaped into nature all influenced how I connected, protected myself, and sought safety. Even in those early years, buried beneath the struggle, were the hidden gems of my potential—the curiosity, resilience, and inner light that refused to go out.

Chapter 2 – Childhood Play Life

Being outside was the playground of my life—the canyon trails, the trees I climbed, the forts I built, and the endless hours spent in the open air where I felt safest and most free. Nature became my refuge, my teacher, and my companion, a place where curiosity mingled with hurt and resilience began to take root. The outdoors taught me how to explore, take risks, and trust my body long before I had words for any of it.

Chapter 3 – The Moment

The defining moment that marked my shift from child to young adult. It wasn’t about years or numbers, but about listening to the thunderbolt that told me I would never be the same. That life would never be the same.

Section 2: The Messy Middle

Chapter 4 – Adulthood Before Ready

Moving from California to Connecticut out of survival, I was thrown into adulthood fast. All at once, I was working a full-time job, attending college at night, searching for a place to live — all while starting out with just $35 to my name, no friends, and a complicated relationship with my mother that I never knew. Through the pressure, the pitfalls, and the unexpected angels who appeared at just the right moments, I discovered responsibility, resilience, and what it means to survive when no one is coming to save you.

Chapter 5 – Young Adult

My first adventure taught me I could do anything. In this stage of my life, I gained full independence and faced childhood memories that resurfaced through nightmares. Along the way, I confronted forgiveness, attempted to build a relationship with my birth mother, and carried the weight of the words, “I’m glad you left,” until they eventually transformed into strength. I learned the power of progress, not perfection, and discovered that healing often comes in uneven steps rather than straight lines.

Chapter 6 – Young Adult

Explore the transformative power of stepping out of your comfort zone, where growth and resilience are forged in the space between fear and hope. Through challenging physical endeavors, pushing your body also builds mental strength and perseverance. Along the way, the bonds of friendship and chosen family reveal that connection and support are essential for the soul.

Section 3: The Later Years - 6 Million Reasons to Live a Life Illuminated From Within

Chapter 7

The messy, beautiful middle years of my life——traveling the U.S. alone, surviving a serious car accident, reconnecting with family, buying my first home, and completing multiple Ironman triathlons. These experiences taught me that courage isn’t the absence of fear, people are mostly kind, and the limits I once believed in were really invitations to grow. It’s a chapter about resilience, chosen family, and learning to build a life defined by hope instead of hurt.

Chapter 8

From the girl who clawed her way out of hurt to the woman who found herself unseen once more, the greatest difference was this: I no longer doubted my worth. I knew I deserved to be seen, heard, and valued. And even in the pain, though my inner light dimmed, it was never lost. It reminds me that while hurt may shape us, it does not define us. There is hope through and beyond the hurt, light after darkness, and a way to shine again—even brighter than before.
